Same temperature, same fan pushing air in front, same humidity, etc. If you are testing a matched intake and a larger intake on a DYNO and the larger intake makes more power, how is a matched intake going to make mroe power going down a track than a larger intake? The dyno's in this scenario were done within 5 minutes of each other, so the same conditions are applied to each run. Your "theory" is stupid and your tests are invalid. So you slapped on a bigger intake and didn't tune? Believe it or not, it makes a HUGE difference. either or well give you your results but im not the type of guy that will pay $150 for a Dyno run when i have hondatas300 and fully know the software. i do believe in Dyno's but i believe in quarter mile results more! why? Dyno cost $150 per 3 run and the real deal track cost $15. working with Dyno machine all day, i know they are not 100% accurate do to calibration. ".3" of a sec to me in drag racing is a huge differ. switch back to the 68mm intake and hit same tires, same launch, same filter. my last project had a jdm b18c type r with a 69mm tapperd side TB with a custom make 68mm cold air intake doing while switching to the 3inch aem cold air, was my best time after trying 3 times. car is my life and im not a poser or a noob. I am a 9 years smog technician and a repair tech and also do performance tuning on my free time. I don't work at walmart during the weekdays and put my skunk2 racing cape on and pretend to be a race car driver on the weekends. show respect to each other were still on the same side. im a all motor guy and needs this info legitīut come on guys. will a bigger intake make more power than a match intake? i got to find tis out so badly my self. track and dyno is a difference.Ī bigger intake on the dyno while the car sits still may make more power than a match intake, but with moving air force down the track. some times i figure it be easier to just go to the track and see what you paid for in action. My buddy has a shop and a dyno but he still charges me $25 a run. Maybe you can put a huge fan in front of the car but its not going to create that cold air force straight to tat lovely velocity stack. why? because while going 45mph to 100mph on the track it gives you the force air going straigt from the cold out side to the intake vs on the dyno the whole car just sits there. that when you run on the Dyno and when you run on the track especially with a velocity stack. Show me some dyno graphs and i'll believe you. I think you need to get your head out of your engineering books (***) and go spend some time learning things on the dyno if you cant add 2.5inch = 63.5mm = basically the same size as the tb. Oh and i forgot about my old h22, stock tb is 62mm, a 3inch short ram made more power from 2000 rpms to 8000 rpm than a 2.5 inch short ram. So why wait? Upgrade your air intake system today and experience the power and performance of BLOX Racing.I dont have the graphs b/c i dont work at the same shop anymore,īut did you not read where a 3inch pipe on 75mm throttle body made 24hp LESS than a 4 inch intake.
